How to configure NC380T iscsi to work with MS iSCSI Software Target ?

Hi folks,

I recently bought an AiO 600 (WSS R2) + one NC380T.
I plan to use it with iscsi.
I assigned IP adress for the NC380T :
192.168.0.1 and .2 (it is a dual port)
and I activate the iSCSI fonction and assign two other IP address as required:
192.168.1.1 and .2

BUT in the MS iSCSI Target Properties I just see the IP address 192.168.0.1 and .2 and not 192.168.1.1 and .2. !!!
Any help would be appreciate

Regards

So, when you logged on to your target, there was an advanced tab. When you selected that, the local adapter was set to "default". If you down arrow that, there should have been the iscsi adapter/s that you setup when you enabled the Iscsi component of the NC380t.

Re: How to configure NC380T iscsi to work with MS iSCSI Software Target ?

Well,
this is what I did
but when I open the MS iSCSI Software Target
and I see the Properties I can't see the IP I assign to the iSCSI :(

So, the iSCSI target is not listening on the iSCSI IP --> I can't used it !!!!

The HP support is also currently working on this point BUT they are not very efficient :(

I bought this NIC for this fonctionnality and I am really disappointed

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Robert, I did not clearly understand what do you mean ...

I did not see any Advanced Tab in the Microsoft iSCSI Software Target (I am logged on the AiO 600)

I do not have a WSS, however, I am using an NC373i in my C-class blade servers. So, from a host perspective, connecting to a target, that is what I see. I'm sorry if this does not help. For what it's worth, I found out yesterday that you cannot enable the TCP offload engine when using Jumbo frames for my NC373i's.

Re: How to configure NC380T iscsi to work with MS iSCSI Software Target ?

I understand what you told me, and I was not in the case you suggest.

My goal is not to use the NC38O T to act as initiator. The NC380 is on the Windows storage Server :)

I wanted that the NC380T act as Target portal but the MS iSCSI Target seems not to allow to add alias IP adress :(

Re: How to configure NC380T iscsi to work with MS iSCSI Software Target ?

Hello, I have the same problem but with the embedded NC373i. I installed acceleration pack, assigned the IP for the iscsi device, I can ping the iscsi initiator from the target and viceversa, but the iSCSI target software does not show the device as network interface (when open Microsoft iSCSI target on the Aio600, right click on Properties, in the network tab does not appear the IP for the ISCSI accelerated device). From the client machine (MS iscsi initiator) I can ping the iscsi target device but port 3260 is not responding.

Any help would be apreciate.

PD: Which we have to renounce to jumbo frames or to TOE ?

Re: How to configure NC380T iscsi to work with MS iSCSI Software Target ?

The iSCSI offload function of the NIC only works for the client side (Initiator). Not for the server side (Target).

The Target on the AiO600 is a software based iSCSI server, thus you only can see the server assigned IPs.
