I cannot copy any file with file size more then ~500Mb on HP Storage Works 1200s via network. What does it matter?

Hi Kirill,
With a ~500MB file, you are exceeding the amount of RAM of the 1200s. Therefore, you will be limited to disk speeds doing your transfer.
Is your transfer slow or will it not complete? Do you get an error message?
1. Make sure you have enough disk space
2. Verify that quotas (Volume and directory) have not been set
3. Make a share on the C: or E: and do a test copy

Hope one of these works.

Re: I cannot copy files with the file size greater then 500Mb

Hi Jon,

Thank you for the answer.

When I try to copy large files NAS does not respond for any network activity for 10-15 hours.

I have read some articles of this forum and as I could see that there are many problems with NFS server service. This service starts by default, though we do not use NFS in our environment.

After I stopped "Server for NFS" service the system is running well.

But I do not understand how NFG service can affect copying files to shared directory on NTFS partition (disk array) via SMB, from Windows XP Professional to Windows Server!

Thank you for your assistance.

Kirill
