Mediasmart ex475 Server
Can I pull out the (2) 500 GB hard drives and replace them with (4) 3 TB drives? I'm not sure if the ex475 would be limited in any way or not?
P.S. This thread has been moevd from General to Network Attached Storage (NAS) (Small and Medium Business). - Hp Forum Moderator

Re: Mediasmart ex475 Server
Yes you can pull and replace both drives. I'm running 4x2TB drives plus an external esata JBOD enclosure with 2x1.5TB.
Running 3TB drives you'll need 48-bit LBA addressing which I don't know if the device supports or not.
Also a word of warning when using large arrays (for this box) you need to upgrade the ram 1GB min to prevent it from choking on it's own data.
