Hi all,
Last year we bought a P2000 with SAS controller and 12 SFF 10k drives.
We now need more space and were thinking of adding 15k drives on a second raid array for better perf.
Does someone knows if that works or do we need to get a second drive enclosure ?
Thanks !

I couldn't find any documentation that proofs this though.

Re: Mixing 10k and 15k drives in the same P2000 MSA
If they are on separate arrays, do you know if they get the full perf of the 15k or if they align with the slowest drives in the enclosure (ie: 10k), which would make it pointless?
Thanks

Re: Mixing 10k and 15k drives in the same P2000 MSA
I don't know for sure, but I don't think it would make a difference, maybe somebody else can let us know for sure.
Guessing that if you mix 10k and 15k in the same vdisk you just get some disks that perform better than others.
It's not like the 10k/15k is like mixing disks of 3G and 6G..

Re: Mixing 10k and 15k drives in the same P2000 MSA
Hi Sudhakar,
Thanks for the information. I guess it applies even if they are in a different raid array ?
Anyway, we decided for the same price to go with 600Gb 10k drives, so this won't be a problem in the end.
Thank you all for your help.
