New DL 380 G5 Server 2003 R2 x64 crashing every day

I have a new DL 380 G5 with a P400 controller that keeps crashing. I have the latest firmware and drivers for the server. I have called HP support and opened numerous tickets with no luck. I have had the motherboard replaced but it still crashes at least once a day at random time periods.

This is the error that shows up in IML:
An Unrecoverable System Error has occurred (Error code 0x0000002D, 0x00000000)

I'm opening up a ticket with Microsoft but I thought I would reach out to the forums too. This is a new server build.

Re: New DL 380 G5 Server 2003 R2 x64 crashing every day

Hi Guys!

I am having the same issue on a DL380 G5. However this one has SBS 2003 R2. Not 64 bit edition. The server stay's up for about 10-12 day's and then reboots.

I have turned ASR off to see if a blue screen comes up.

So far I have installed the latest PSP and upgraded BIOS Firmware.

Let me know how you are going.

Re: New DL 380 G5 Server 2003 R2 x64 crashing every day

Sys Log Shows:

The reason supplied by user Administrator for the last unexpected shutdown of this computer is: Other (Unplanned)
Reason Code: 0xa000000
Bug ID:
Bugcheck String:

App Log:

Nothing relavent was in the app log in terms of error's or warnings at the time of the crash.

The IML logs shows this:

"An Unrecoverable System Error has occurred (Error code 0x0000002D, 0x00000000.

Could this be a hardware fault?

Re: New DL 380 G5 Server 2003 R2 x64 crashing every day

So even though I had the motherboard replaced it still crashed. Then after three weeks the HP tech finally got me to third level support. The issue was that the HPS server reports the HP Tech wanted me to send would not run and get stuck in the collecting ACU information section. I uninstalled ACU and was able to get report to finish (Tried removing and reinstalling all HP software prior with no luck). It showed that I needed to update the BIOS on the new motherboard so I used the same BIOS update CD I had used in my build and what do you know the server stopped rebooting! Its been over two weeks since the last reboot.

Re: New DL 380 G5 Server 2003 R2 x64 crashing every day

Hi, we have an almost new ML 350 G5 Server SBS 2003 and we has the same problem, the server keeps crashing every 8-10 days with the same error messages as the ones above.

An Unrecoverable System Error has occurred (Error code 0x0000002D, 0x00000000)

I have updated the bios, system, HP smart Array etc. but it still keeps crashing.

Have you solved your problems with your servers?

Re: New DL 380 G5 Server 2003 R2 x64 crashing every day

I realized that I was one BIOS update behind. Since then I updated to the latest BIOS and have been running without a problem from the 5/2/09. Finger's crossed. Also make sure that you install the latest PSP for your server.

If you have no joy log it with HP support.
