Proliant DL100 G2 Sata port designation - are they numbered left to right?

Proliant DL100 G2 Sata port designation - are they numbered left to right?

My DL100 G2 has a bad physical drive on port 3...is this the left-most drive? I can't find documentation regarding this and all HDD lights are green.

Adaptec Storage Manager is saying controller 1, port 3.

The reason is that I'd like to pull the failed drive and buy the same make/model (but a non-HP replacement to save money). They want $350+s/h new.
Anyone got tips or ideas on this?
