StoreEasy 1650 connected to a SAS Tape

Hi, 

I have an StoreEasy 1650 and one HP LTO-5 Ultrium 3000 (SAS),  I want to make backups to tape but  I'm not sire if It's possible to connect directly the SAS tape to the StoreEasy. Does StoreEasy supports SAS HBA?

Hi, 

Yes, you can connect the HP LTO-5 Ultrium 3000 (SAS) to the STOREEASY server.
Need to use the HPE H241 HBA card for external connetion.

Recommended SAS cables:

716191-B21 Use this cable to connect HPE StoreEver SAS external tape devices to HPE SAS controllers with external Mini-SAS HD
(SFF8644) connectors.
716193-B21 Use this cable to connect HPE StoreEver SAS external tape devices to HPE SAS controllers with external Mini-SAS HD
(SFF8644) connectors

Recommended Firmware  - Z6ED
Tape Drive drivers- 1.0.9.3

Minimum Recommended firmwre and driver for the H241 controller card:
Firmware - 6.88
Drivers  - 106.26.0.64(B)

Storeasy 1650 is based on DL380 Gen9 server and is compatible with HPE Tape drives.

It's recommended to connect tape drive to a dedicated SAS HBA like H241.
