Upgrade disks on a StoreEasy 1430
Hello,
I wish to upgrade the disks on my 1430. It came with 4x3TB disks.
Can I install 4x 8TB hard disks?
Is there a capacity limit? Why is that?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Re: Upgrade disks on a StoreEasy 1430
Hello,
StoreEasy 1430 has the following capacity limitations:
StoreEasy 1430
Internal SATA 16TB
Internal SAS 16TB
Internal plus External 400TB
(Replace stock P222 with P822 allows for 100 drives x 4TB LFF , 4 internal and 8 D2600s)
Based on the above specifications, it may not be possible to upgrade to 4 x 8TB with existing internal RAID controller model (P222). You could however swap the internal RAID controller with P822 and add external HDD to increase the capacity. Please note that the OS on this model is Factory installed, you may have to get in touch with your HPE Sales representative to puchase the System Recovery media to re-install the operating system.
Hope this helps.

Re: Upgrade disks on a StoreEasy 1430
Thank you for your reply. I understand that installing 8TB drives may need swapping the RAID controller.
Will I be able to upgrade from 3 to 4TB keeping my stock P222 RAID controller instead?

Re: Upgrade disks on a StoreEasy 1430
Since the internal capacity limitation is 16TB, 4 x 4TB could work.
Likely part number 695510-B21.
Hope this helps.
