XP 64bit Pro not seeing files on Windows 2008 server (X1600)

I have a windows 2008 server - NAS X1600 Box with latest 2008 server on it.
A Windows XP 64bit machine (up to date) is rather randomly not seeing files on the server. Other machines (not 64bit) are seening them and even the XP 64bit machine 'knows' they are there because if you try to copy the same file again - you get an overwrite warning.
There is no reliable pattern to the missing files.
The file is a standard share with domain based permissions.

Hi Robert,

This is a known issue with Windows XP x64 clients accessing shares on a Windows 2008 platform.

For details see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2004445

Thanks,

I should also mention that in the case I dealt with in the past, I only saw the issue on WinXP x64 clients when using UNC paths. Mapping a drive letter did not seem to display the issue.

The Microsoft KB article does not seem to specify between using UNC and drive letters so the case I mention may have been unique to that site, but if you are using UNC, you may want to try drive letters as well.

Thanks!

Beleive it or not - I did try searching the Microsoft forums, but obvioulsy without success.

We are testing now. We had already be using "map network drive" in explorer, but had not tried net use in a command line.
