110/220 SDLT and Arcserve

It appears that the native compression of the SDLT drive is not functioning with Arcserve. Using the AS software I turned off the compression on the drive and selected software compression. It works but it is beyond slow. I have updated service packs, firmware, etc. but I am not able to get the SDLT hardware compression to work with Arcserve. No luck in the CA forums. All help and suggestions most appreciated!

Dear John

You should not use software & hardware compression it is counter productive. It will actually expand the data!
Normally the hardware compression is on by default and should require no intervention. How are you checking the compression?

Hi,
Rothery says well, and you has to see in your AS log something like:
Media Compression Ratio : 1.48 (the value is depending of the kind of data backed up)
