40/80 DLT says "Tape in use" without a tape

I can put a tape in and eject it and the drive still says "tape in use" This is a new drive which replaced the old one with same issue. The tools cannot access it because it is trying to load a tape. Is there anyway to force it to stop?

Hi there.
Did you check your cables to the drive ?
Is it possible, that it is blocked by a lock file ?
