Every time I attach the tape drive I loose my disks. I'm assuming this is a ID clash problem and I need to set the target id of the tape drive.
The tape drive has a panell on the back with numbers 1 - 12. Some of the switches are up and some are down. Does anyone know what they all mean? Which one's do I move to adjust the target id?

Re: 4000 DLT tape drive ....does anyone know how to set the jumpers?
switches 2-7:
no emulation: 2,3,4,5,6, and 7 all off
HP-DAT : 4 and 5 on, the rest off
HP7980 : 3,4 and 5 on, the rest off
Exb-8500 : 2 and 4 on, the rest off
Remove existing device files, switch of the DLT, change the settings, power on the DLT, re-create device files.

Re: 4000 DLT tape drive ....does anyone know how to set the jumpers?
Before you boot your system, run ODE, then MAPPER. If you can't see your disks at this point then you have a problem with either your SCSI address or termination. Once you can see everything using MAPPER then proceed as directed by the previous poster.

All our manuals for the tape drive have disappeared into thin air!
Many Thanks
