5 GB to 8 GB upgrade

I have an external Colorado 5 GB tape drive running the 7.0 ver of the HP Colorado II software. If I download the HP upgrade that allows you to use the 8 GB tapes in the 5 GB unit will I still be able to use the 5 GB tapes I have or only 8 GB tapes after the upgrade? Or, If I upgrade to the HP Colorado Backup Ver 8, will I be able to use the 8 GB tapes then and also maybe the 5 GB tapes?
Any advise would be welcome

You will be able to use both tapes however you will need a 8GB tape to successfully complete the upgrade.
