A4851A DLT Tape Library

we have a A4851A DLT Tape Library whic is currently connected to a J-Class workstation. We want to move this to a R-Class server, however according to the documentation the A4581A does not supprto R-Class servers. It does support D-Class however, so my question is will it work with an R-Class (assuming we have the correct SCSI cards in the server) ?

Hi,

D-Class and R-Class servers has same architecture.

If you get proper SCSI Card, Cable and driver then there is no reason that it will not work.

Thanks Sunil, that's confirmed what I thought, I was jsut surprised the documentation didn't mention the R-class.

The R-class may have released after the 7215 was discontinued.

The supported HBAs for HSC busses with the A4851A were:
HP A2929A
HP A3341A
HP A3644A

These are HVDS cards.
