AIT 50 tape alert
We have a windows nt4 server service pack 6 running an compaq AIT 50 tape drive, using Backup Exec 8.6. recently we have poor performance fromthe device. Backup used to take 8 hours are now taking 12 hours. The messages we have received in the job log are: 1) The tape drive is having problems reading data. No data has been lost, but there has been a reduction in the performance of the tape. 2)The operation has failed because the tape cartridge was manually ejected while the tape drive was actively writing or reading. 3)The tape drive is having problems writing data. No data has been lost, but there has been a reduction in the capacity of the tape.

Re: AIT 50 tape alert
Please download and install Library Tape Tools and attach report, if, after cleaning drive the problem continues.
