Autoloader 1/8 Drive Type
I have recently been given responsibility for our backups, we have an HP StorageWorks 1/8 Tape Autoloader - not G2 and are currently using Ultrium 1 tapes 100GB each. One of the server backups has now reached over 800GB, so I can't back it up on 8 tapes. I have applied for some cash to get a new server but in the meantime I want to see if I can buy some new tapes - the trouble is I have no idea what drive is installed. Is there any obvious place I can find this information? Typically, I can't locate any of the original paperwork for the drive. In backup Exec (version 12) the device reports a firmware version of F80P which I believe is for the Ultrium 460 Drive, if this is right the device should be able to support Ultrium2 200GB tapes?

Re: Autoloader 1/8 Drive Type
Hi Sjackson:
If you have an Ultrium 460 or Ultrium-2 tape drive, this tape drive takes the Ultrium-2 branded tape cartridges.
The Ultrium-2 tape cartridge part number is C7972A.
