Autoloader 1/8 & Retrospect
Hi all,
In short:
Dell PowerEdge 1600SC, Win2k SP3, Retrospect 5 with latest drivers, HP Autoloader 1/8 with latest drivers.
The manual for the autoloader states that for non-sequential operation it detects whether the B/U software is capable of controlling the loading / unloading of media. Unfortunately it appears as though my copy of Retrospect isn't, is this a known issue?
The support people at Retrospect's website seem a little clueless...
Thanks

Re: Autoloader 1/8 & Retrospect
Hello, unfortunatelly I am not really familiar with Restrospect SW, but the Sequential mode is a default setting for 1/8 autoloader. The very first time You issue a command to the robotics, it autoswitches to Random mode. Does this answer Your question? BR, Vladimir

Re: Autoloader 1/8 & Retrospect
No :(
What do you use to send a command to the robotics?
I can use Retrospect to eject the tapes etc but the loader stays in SEQ mode.

Re: Autoloader 1/8 & Retrospect
What are the drive types and is the latest firmware loaded up? This is provided by the tape drive manufacturer and loaded via tape.
