Autoloader 1/9 + ML350 G3
What's the best way to connect this puppy. The server has an external scsi from the SmartArray controller. I heard it's not a good idea to use a RAID card for a tape unit. Maybe, there's an attachment to the internal scsi?

Re: Autoloader 1/9 + ML350 G3
Use a dedicated SCSI card for it.
Either a Ultra3 SCSI LVD/SE for an Ultrium3 drive or a Ultra2 SCSI LVD/SE for Ultrium 2/1 drive.
You will have better performance with it.If this is out of budget, you can connect it to the SmartArray controller as well. Performance will be less however, a smartarray controller is for hanldling disks and not for handling tapes.
best regards,
Kurt
