Autoloader & Window 2008.

I download the latest driver of Storagework 1/8 G1 Autoloader from HP for & Window 2008. Unfortunatlety. after install driver. the medium change device is still " unknown medium changer"

Any new driver will be release in soon?

drivers for library or autoloader changers, are purely cosmetics.
The "unknow medium Changer" is displayed when you use the windows driver.

That's mean HP will not release latest Driver for Win 2008? :(

The current driver is supposed to work with Windows Server 2008. HP does intend to keep the driver up to date so people using the few backup applications that require a driver can work with it but almost nobody actually needs a driver.

There are no updates to the driver planned at this time as there are no known issues with the current driver.

It is obvious that the Medium Changer will be shown as Unknown Medium Changer in Windows OS..

And if you are using any Backup S/w like Symantec backup Exec or Netbackup...it will show as Unknown Medium Changer..Coz the Drivers for Tape Device wld be of Backup S/w.

If you are not using any backup S/w..then u can install the HP Drivers...it will reflect as a HP Medium Changer...
