Backups Failing With "Invalid Format Version Of Data Protection Medium"

I am using a SureStore E Tape library 20/700 on an 11.11 HP-UX omniback (Data Protector A5.1) server and have recently started getting failures with the above message. It goes through and backs up all the filesystems, apparently ok, but once it does the tape verification at the end of the backup it marks all the objects as failed and reports the above message.
I am sure that nothing has changed, so was wondering if anybody has seen this before and how I can avoid it.

Many thanks,

JASH

Hi!

Have the same problem but on Windows servers. Did you find any solution??

Re: Backups Failing With "Invalid Format Version Of Data Protection Medium"

Well,

It appears that the newest version of ignite has been causing this with the insf command running and reinstating the old tape drives, whilst the backups were running, thus causing a problem with the backups and tapes. The ignite backups have been moved to a Sunday and the backups are now going through.

Took a fortnight to find out what was doing it, but at least we now have backups!
