Backups taking too long

Im using a storageworks Ultrium 460 drive and backup exec 10 rev 5484 sp6

and trying to backup 160gb data but its taking 30 hours plus to backup surely it shouldnt be taking this long to backup

i have updated the firmware to the drive and installed the latest drivers for the drive itself

whats next to speed the backups along?
