Bad performance HP DTL VS80
On my costumers Windows NT 4 i├В┬┤ve installed a HP DLT VS80 and it takes forever to make a backup operation. I├В┬┤m using BE 8.3 with all patches.
Have tried the diagnostic from hp with no errors.
The backup speed is 12 Mb/min (it should go faster i think?)

Re: Bad performance HP DTL VS80
Hi
Be sure that the block size is set to 64k under the drive properties - Backup Exec
VS drives require 64k block size for optimal performance
Standard DLT drives use 32k block size
BE8.3 is quite old so I presume it is detecting your drive as a standard DLT
Let me know if this helps
Regards
Vic

Re: Bad performance HP DTL VS80
Where do you change the Block size is it in the Backup software or on the Drive?
