Blocksize in tape backup

Is there any way to change the blocksize of files when I'm going to back them up on tape to improve the performance?
Is it possible by the backup application or OS or ... ?
I have Arcserve 12.5 and MSL6060
and I'm going to have a better speed when I'm going to backup of my Exchange 2007 mailbox ...
Regards

Re: Blocksize in tape backup

Normally the block size is defined by the application. I have no experience in Arcserve. You should be able to find the method to define block size, from the application documentation.

I don't think Arcserve allows you to change block size beyond 64KB assuming you are already at that size.
