Byte mistakes using Surestore DAT 24
Running internal Dat 24 under Linux Redhat 7.1 on ibm pc architecture, I'm experiencing the following problems:
recovered files contain random byte mistakes that take the form of the original decimal value of the byte plus two. Approximately five or six of these mistakes per every 12 kilobytes of data.
It is unknown whether the mistake occurs during the write-to-tape, or the read-from-tape, but the mistakes occur regardless of software used to write or read.
As I am running Linux (not windows), what would be the method I need to use to diagnose this problem?
Regards,
Michael Martinez

Re: Byte mistakes using Surestore DAT 24
hi
I think that the best way to troubleshoot is to connect your dat 24 to a wintel machine and to run LTT, this diagnostic will test all parts of your dat and give you the result.
