I need help on how to go about this error. Anytime I tried to backup using HP Storageworks Ultrium 960 with LTO3/800GB tape drive it will starts and failed after it copied about 32GB data.

Have you tried different tapes? This is an internal target failure for not able to locate the target position.

I tried about 10 different tapes but got the same error.

The tape drive is having problems then. You should clean the drive several times, try one more time, then use L&TT (www.hp.com/support/tapetools) to pull a support ticket and run the "assessment test". Unless cleaning several times removes some debris that is causing signal problems it is likely that the assessment test will fail and report that the drive needs replaced.
