C1556D Displaying OBDR Codes
Just curious if anyone has seen this and might be able to help. We have a Dat24 Model C1556D which no longer responds. When powered up, the Tape Clean and Tape LED's just alternate back and forth indicating that it is doing an OBDR Restoration, however there is no tape in it and it will not accept a tape. Nothing. Is there a way to reset this drive? It used to be installed on a Unix Server but now I'm trying to recover it for use on a Win XP box. I've installed L&TT but for some reason, when I click on the drive, the program cannot read the Bios of the drive.
I have a DDS2 which the L&TT reads no problem.
Just thought I'd Ask. Thanks

Re: C1556D Displaying OBDR Codes
The way to put a dds drive in a OBDR status (as it is if the leds blink altenatively) is to push the eject button when powering up the unit.
I suspect that you have some problem with that button, try to remove the front cover, and see it it fix, then check for any problem that may keep pushed the eject button

Re: C1556D Displaying OBDR Codes
Thanks for the suggestion Marino. I will try that. Hopefully that is all it is.
