C1557A DAT DDS-3

Does this device even exist in HP circles. I have not been able to find any information about it. I am having trouble with compressing Netware back-ups. If someone can help me out I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hello Robert,

I believe this link may have what you need as far as drivers, etc., for the dds-3:

http://www.hp.com/cposupport/swindexes/hpc1554add9627_swen.html

The 1557A and the 1554A are the same drive, I believe.

Thanks Jeff, I was wondering why there was nothing out there for it. By the way the link didn't work.

Hiya.

Not exactly same...

C1554A is a DDS 3 Trade Ready drive i.e. it's not a SureStore. C1557A is SCSI inquiry string for DDS3 autoloader.

Re: C1557A DAT DDS-3

Hello.

Erm, as far as the drive goes, should. If you're using NTbackup. Backup SW should have it's own drivers in which case you shouldn't load tape drivers to the OS.

As for autoloader function... I don't think any of native OS backup solutions can utilize autoloader. That means you need to load every tape manually.

Cheers,
Arimo
