C5713A changer problem under Novell6

Hi !

I have HP Proliant ML370G3 with HP Surestore DAT 40X6 with H107. I want to make backup with Brightsor 9. While booting up server, SCSI detects both device (Tape device and changer) on LUN=0 and LUN=1. After loading Novell6 I can only see Tape device. Brightstor also finds only tape device. Can not see changer. When using LIST DEVICES command only 1 unbound device can be seen, also for LIST STORAGE ADAPTERS.

Device is connected to Compaq 64-Bit/66 Mhz Dual Channel Wide Ultra3 SCSI controller. Have the latest Service Packs.

What I already tried:
1. LUN_Enable=FF switch after SCSI ham driver.
2. Tried to upgrade firmware on device but could not, it seems H107 is the newest one.
3. Removed nwtape.cmd and nwaspi.cdm not to be loaded (was an advice from brightstor support)
4. Tried to change to other SCSI ID than default ID5 and also option switch 7.

What else can I try ?

Have you tried to use the /LUN command instead of the lun_enable?

Hi,

I've had the same problem with Backupexec 9.1 in combination with netware 6 and a proliant server. The only way for me to fix it was:
- put in a adaptec scsi card because of the compaq doesn't seem to have ability to detect multi-lun
- use latest adaptec drivers from the adaptec site to support multi-lun
- use lun_enable=FFFF in startup.ncf

After building this environment i could 'see' the robotic library
