Can't detect / configure MSL5026 S2 on HP 9000 server
I'm pretty sure I've cabled and terminated it correctly as per the installation guide, and I've enabled the schgr driver in the kernel and rebooted (several times). All I get on a device listing against the HBA is:
HW path Driver Desc Status
0/3 lba Local PCI Bus Adapter (782) CLAIMED
0/3/0/0 ? PCI SCSI (10000030) UNCLAIM
0/3/0/1 ? PCI SCSI (10000030) UNCLAIM
Any ideas ? I'm beginning to wonder if the unit may be faulty as the tape drives did not power up first try (no LEDs or fans - and is that a faint smell of burning, or is it just new ?). No errors logged on the library. Green lights on the terminators and all power/fans now.

Re: Can't detect / configure MSL5026 S2 on HP 9000 server
Add the following drivers to your kernel
stape, autoch.
Create a new kernel, reboot and It should work.

Re: Can't detect / configure MSL5026 S2 on HP 9000 server
I presume the library is "Alive".
The ioscan output doesn't look good though.
The PCI HBA needs to be claimed at the first palce. I suspect the problem could be driver. Which HBAs you are using, PN??
Can you post # ioscan -fn result?
The "autoch" is a device class which stands for auto changer. It is associsted with driver named "schgr".

Library is 'alive'.
ioscan -fn output attached. Card is on 0/3 path (PCI slot).

Re: Can't detect / configure MSL5026 S2 on HP 9000 server
With your ioscan o/p, It's very clear that the robotic arm is not detected, I mean controller. Did u plug the robic controller FC port to teh fabric.
Also check for the robotic arm status in the controll pannel. Is there error reported in the controll pannel. If I am not wrong there will be an option for robotic self test, try it.
#ioscan -fnC autoch, and check robotic arm is detected or not, then do insf .
Regards,
Sunil
