Can't upgrade firmware on DDS-3?

I have a DAT24 C6364A which is a C1537A inside. I am having problems with data compare errors so am trying to upgrade the firmware to attempt a fix. The Tape Tools program downloads firmmare but wont select any for update (says "wrong prefix" in Selectable field). I noted my current FW is HP02. What gives?

Re: Can't upgrade firmware on DDS-3?

HP02 is firmware for Enterprise level tape devices. These aren't officially supported by L&TT. If you have a C6364A, it is probably connected to a HP-UX server, so even if there was a more recent version of firmware than HP02 (AFAIK there isn't), you will need to use MESA or similar utility to upgrade the firmware. You can't put regular distribution firmware into a C6364A.

Steve,

If HP02 is the latest firmware for the C6364A, does the same go for the C6365A tape drive connected to a HP9000 Server?

Thanks,

Nick.
