Cleaning sureStore DLT80

I have a sureStore DLT 80 that keeps asking to be cleaned. i put a DLT cleaning tape in and it does its stuff then finishes, and the "use cleaning tape" light goes out. but as soon as I put a tape in the cleaning light returns.

Can anyone please help.
