Colorado 14GB internal running on Windows 2000
The software does not seem to be compressing the data enough to fit on the tape. Running a scheduled backup overnight i get the message in the morning 'insert another media to continue'. There is about 8,300,000,000 bytes to backup, should this not fit on a 14 GB tape. If so, whats wrong???

Re: Colorado 14GB internal running on Windows 2000
Hi,
this question has been diskussed several times in here. Again here is the answer:
A 14 GB Colorado stores only 7 GB native data. 14 GB can only be written, when the data are compressible in the ratio 1:2. Usually data can├В┬┤t be compressed in that ratio. A typical compression ratio is 1.4 to 1.5. But when your data are already compressed (for example by WINZIP or other tools) they can├В┬┤t be compressed further and the ratio will be 1:1.
It seems that your data are not compressible.
Regards
Ma

Re: Colorado 14GB internal running on Windows 2000
Hi,
I cannot be able to help you with you data but can explain you. I am attaching a file that is used to create raw data. Use it to create data then take it's backup you will see the compression working
So, only thing is it depends upon data.
Regards,
Prashant S.
