Colorado 5GB - Critical Error

I'm using HP Colorado 5GB tape drive and HP Colorado Backup 2 v7.3 software to do my backups.

After the information has been backed up to the tape drive and is doing the "compare/verify" portion of the backup it gives a "Critical Error, Unknown Error on Drive C"

If I check the tape backup it shows the tape being a successfully backed up. I've tried retentioning the tape and have used the HP diagnostic tool on the tape itself and it came back ok.

There was also a reocurring error "Unexpected Tape Removal Detected, reference 07-14-23-00-3A00" Not sure if that fits in with the above mentioned error.

Any ideas and thanks in advance!

Re: Colorado 5GB - Critical Error

Forgetfull me, just to add. I'm running Windows 98 and made sure all programs in the background were closed. I also ran a full scandisk and did not come up with any errors on the hard disk.

thx

click on http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,424,00.html
and download version 8.1 from on of the threads. It is recommended for win 98.

Hello Mike,
also you should make a firmware upgrade to FW 2.08
you found it on the same side as the colordo backupII.
