Colorado 8 gb and Hp Colorado Backup II 9.1 with Win XP

Have read all topics re problems with this.
Have finally found a way to run the Hp Colorado Backup II 9.1 software under win xp:

1. Boot without power to the tape unit.
2. Install 9.1 software, and boot.
3. Attach power to the tape AFTER boot.
4. Insert tape cartridge.
4. Search new hardware, tape units.
5. When search finished, just exit, no
search for drivers or anything.
6. Tapeunit now visible in
controlpanel/system.
7. Run backup, when finished, just unplug
tape unit.

This procedure after having toiled with install of Shuttle share install utility from the hp cd: h:\misc\epatdrvr\shareshtl -install epatapnt

Well, not the best solution, but it works for me. I do NOT boot with power to the tape unit,
then I get a lot of BSOD with some strange white error text.
