Compaq 3306 DLT tape drive

I have a 20/40gb Compaq SCSI drive (1998 I think) that I am trying to find a manual for, as I am having difficulty getting it to show up on the SCSI device list.
I want it to do tape backups for my home server with Retrospect (on a Mac)

Any ideas where I could find setup information?

looks like a DLT40, or 20/40 as CPQcalled it,
you have to pay attention at the scsi interface and be sure to have the correct HBA

here is a manual from HP including the DLT40 (these all come from Quantum and are similar across OEM)
