Compaq 40/80 GB DLT

I have read that we can use this tape drive on Solaris, one thing that i have in mind is that i have several 35/70GB DLT7000 Tape cartridge, can it be use with the compaq drive? I wanted to read all the data on these tapes.

Julius,
you should be able to read data, but please make sure Solaris OS will recognize format data was written (for example, tar archive). If backup was done by backup software, then to make Solaris recognize data you will have to install this software to the Solaris host
