Compaq DLT 7000 C5172L Tape Library

I am trying to find a manual for a Compaq DLT 7000 C5172L Tape Library.

Also, I need to know if the unit requires a Differential scsi HVD adapter?

Where does one go to get information on this unit online?

The Compaq library was made by HP (pre-merger). It is very close to the SureStore 15 slot library with DLT7000 drives. Look at the model 7115w/7215w.

I'm pretty sure that library has switch selectable HVD and SE. There should be two busses - one for drive 1 & the controller, and the other for drive 2.

Note: Don't connect the HVD (labeled diff) connection to an LVD adapter.

I see the unit has a code Model # 4120 does that mean anything in terms of identifying manuals and support?

That number doesn't sound familiar. If it is 15 slot library with 3 removable magazines, and has DLT7000 drives, than it was called the "Compaq DLT 15 Cartridge Library Model 35/70".

If it had one drive it was a 350365-001, and if it had 2 drives it was a 350365-002 (Compaq product numbers).

I did locate the Compaq manual for this product, but it's too big to post (1.7MB). If you send your email address to ltt_team@hp.com and mention this thread, I'll send it to you.
