Compaq sdt-10000 internal tape failing
I have a tape drive which was working fine until recently. Now it is not being recognized somewhere in POST and then is off line. It started happening after adding more memory to the server. At first I thought I had caused the SCSI cable or power supply to come undone, so I turned off the server, re-seated the cables and powered it up. The drive was seen and available, but then failed in the middle of a backup and was off line. I re-started the server and it was still off line. Any ideas?

Re: Compaq sdt-10000 internal tape failing
What do the lights on the front of the DAT drive indicate?
Which ones are on or flashing?
The combination of light states (steady and flashing) give good clues as to any drive problems. They are detailed in the users guide.
