Compression Enabled = False

I have two 72GB SCSI tape drives for two different customers. The first time I noticed this issue I simply updated the firmware to the latest release. After checking after the upgrade the status was changed to True. But I have checked today and both servers have reverted back to False again. I am using the latest firmware with the latest driver.

Ideas?

Re: Compression Enabled = False

Hi Palmer,
It could be possible that the backup software is disabling the compression on the drives.

HP has a software tool called "HP StorageWorks Library and Tape Tools" that is avialable as free download at this link:

This can help you check the compression status of the drives. The tool also has utilities that can enable/disable the compression on the drives.
