Compression rate on LTO1

Afternoon all,
Does anyone know how to see what compression rate I'm getting on my LTO backups?

We have got 4 LTO1 drives in an HP 4/40, connected via 2GB fibre, and using Data Protector v5.1

Thanks,
Sime.

Re: Compression rate on LTO1

Simeon,

See how much data is stored on a tape once it is full. Divide the total amount by 100 GB and you end up with the true compression ratio.

The compression ratio is data dependent and can thus vary. But the rule of 2:1 is in most of the times reached without any problems.

best regards,
Kurt

Thanks for that Kurt. I'll get my calculator out now.
