Connecting HP C6395A Disk Enclosure to a Server

Hello,

I am attempting to connect my HP C6395A disk enclosure to my Unix Box.

The OS is not detecting the drives when I do an ioscan.

Has anyone attempted this before?

I need help.

Thanks

Re: Connecting HP C6395A Disk Enclosure to a Server

This is an ultrawide drive and must be connected to a suitable HBA, not differential. Also make sure you have the right terminator(not differential). Make sure you run ioscan -fnC disk. This will rescan for new devices.

good luck,

Dave,

What is a suitable HBA?

Should I use an active terminator or a passive terminator?

Thanks

What I mean to say is that you need to be sure you are attaching the drive to a like bus type. Make sure your HBA (Host Bus Adapter) is eaither LVD or Wide SE, HVD or differential will not work. AS for termination it should be active Wide SE. Hope that helps, any other questions feel free to email me @ daved@elitetechnicalsolutions.com
