Creating dev file for schgr

Can anyone tell me how to create a device file for the schgr driver? It's on an HP-UX 11.0 system running on an L2000. Thanks.

Re: Creating dev file for schgr

Hi Scott,

Just enable the schgr driver in the kernel, rebuild the kernel and reboot the box. This should create the required device file for you. IF the file does not get created at eboot, run the command "insf -e" to create the device file manually. Now do a "ioscan -fn" to see if the device files have been created. They are usually called /dev/rac/cxtydz.

Hope this helps.

Re: Creating dev file for schgr

Hi Scott,

I've attached a document which describes
the whole procedure. If you need to create
a device to control a robotic arm for
a tape library or autochanger, this is
also included.
