DAT 24eU on SUSE Linux Ent. server 7

I have DDS3 tape drive on the Linux box with SUSE SLES 7. The command "mt -f /dev/st0 status" always return ONLINE BOT. On the other box with DDS2 tape drive without media return "no media found". Where is error?
