DAT 72 USB

Hello

I have a DAT 72 USB on a Proliant ML110. I need to access to the data in the tape, but can I see it?
The server works with Windows Server 2003. There is no drive letter assigned, so how can I read the tape? What software is needed?
Thanks

Re: DAT 72 USB

Hello Nuno,

The tape drives are usually not recognized as a drive letter as these are not random-access devices as the hard drives.

Usually we rely on a backup software application to read and write the data. Hence if you have a cartridge with data, you would require to use the same backup application that was used to write the cartridge in the first place.

Hope this helps.
