DAT 80 (DDS4) with A9890A
Hi,
I would like to check if any one connected an external DAT tape drive in HP 5300 enclosure to a smart array 6402 (A9890A). Is this compatible? I tried connecting the tape drive but it ever appeared in ioscan. The driver is in the Kernel. The thing is that it dose not since the tape drive. I rebooted twice with no luck. Do I have to do any configuration on the card it self?
Thanks in advance.

Re: DAT 80 (DDS4) with A9890A
I guess it is in-compatible combination.
SA 6402 is raid controller card and connecting to a tape drive is not supported alteast in HP-UX.
You need to have Ultra3, Ultra320 SCSI adapter.
Refer following link for supported options
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11878_div/11878_div.html
I guess tape drives under Windows/Linux environment are supported.

Re: DAT 80 (DDS4) with A9890A
The drive is compatible with the system but hooked up to the wrong type of scsi controller.
It might work off the scsi port on the rp server.
