DAT40 Tape Drive

We had installed HP Sure store DAT 40 internal SCSI drive in our server with windows 2000 server which was working fine. When we upgraded OS Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 the same is not working. Can some one help us?

Thanks in advance

Re: DAT40 Tape Drive

Hi,

Is the tape drive detected by the BIOS during the startup of the server?

Do you see the tape drive in the Windows device manager?

Re: DAT40 Tape Drive

Hi Ramakrishnan

See if drive is seen in Device Manager. If yes, upgrade the driver to latest one.

Hi,
I do not know what Backup SW you used in the past and which you use now, but did yo tryed with brand new cartridge and or did you format the cartridge first? sound like you are using different block size.
Also there was some Qarticle from Microsoft related to problems with NTBackup

Re: DAT40 Tape Drive

Hi,
Try disabling the default windows storage service(Removable Storage Service) from services.msc.
and make sure that you have the latest softpaq and psp from HP.com.
