DDS-4

Dear All pl provide me the solution when i m taking the backup with the command ntbackup.after that if data is more then 22gb then dds-4 is asking other contnew tape after that i insert next,backup have complete,but the thing is that dds-4 is 72gb space tape.it mens dds-4 tape cant write 72 gb data on single tape...pl give the solution.

What is this "ntbackup" you are using? This is the HP-UX forum... not Windows.

No, it isn't.

DDS-4 native capacity is 20 GB. So, getting 22 GB on the tape means you are getting some compression, but not much.

ntbackup -> its Windows Operation system backup method, there ain't much compression of data has been done while backing up your data.

solution -> either your use any "Backup software" -> HP Data proctector -> for better data compression, or your post your further queries to "Windows forum"
