DDS3 format

Hi.

I have a DAT24 and use DDS3 tapes.

Several month ago some unusable tapes were produced trying to use Colorado Backup II. I don't know why but a PC crash produced unusable tapes.

Since then I use NTBackup without problem.

Is there a way to reformat the tapes? How?

When I insert these tapes in the drive it keeps making noises for a long time.
