DLT 418 Autoloader only recognized as DLT 4000

Hello,

I have a HP Surestore DLT 418 Autoloader (C6280F).

During Boot this device is shown as a "Quantum DLT 4000".

In the HP Library and TapeTools it is shown as a "Quantum DLT4000".

So I dont have a chance to see it as a changer in BackupExec.

With the HP Library and TapeTools I cant load Firmware 2.12 because its not seen as a changer. Current Firmware is 126 for the DLT4000.

What can I do to use it in BackupExec as a Changer/Autoloader?

Thanks for help.

What sort of server are you attaching this drive to? More specifically, what SCSI controller are you using - there are known problems with hanging tape drives off RAID controllers that are also looking after hard disks on another port. I have seen the behaviour you describe in such a situation - my solution was to get a second SCSI controller (PCI) and use the tape drive on this.

The drive is connected to a Adaptec SCSI controler. Only the Tape drive is connected to this controler. The Server is a LH plus with Windows2000 Server SP4
