DLT IV on WinNT 4 won't read
Hi, I am using a DLT IV tape (brandnew, never used) in a Benchmark DLT1 drive under Windows NT4. On this system, I do a weekly backup using NTBackup. I made one last week, and wanted to this week's just now, but NTBackup gives me this pop-up (and ejects the tape):
"Tape Drive Error Detected
Tape device reported an error on a request to get device status.
Error reported: Unrecognizable data."
I tried cleaning the drive, but with no succes. I have a total of 4 brandnew DLT IV tapes for this system, 2 of which don't work. The other 2 do. Has anyone experienced a simular problem in the past, or does anyone have an idea why the drive won't read 2 of my tapes?
P.S. This thread has been moved from General to Tape Libraries and Drives. - Hp Forum Moderator
